How to register on BuilderFinder
29 Jul 2026
Whether you're looking to hire a builder or find new work, you'll need an account. Here's what to expect.
1. Choose your account type
On the registration page, you'll pick one of two account types:
- Homeowner - post projects and hear from local builders.
- Builder - browse and respond to jobs matched to your trade and area.
You can't switch between the two later on the same account, so pick the one that matches what you're here to do.
2. Fill in your details
You'll need your name, email, and phone number. Builders also add their company name, the trades they cover, and the areas they work in.
Instead of setting a password, you can also sign up with "Continue with Google" - it verifies your identity instantly and skips the password step, though you'll still need to fill in the rest.
3. Add your address
Every account needs a verified address (address line 1, address line 2, town/city, and postcode). This is used only for our own account verification and fraud prevention - it's never shown to anyone else on the platform, not even a builder or homeowner you're matched with.
4. You're in
Once you've registered, homeowners are taken straight to posting their first project, and builders land on their lead inbox. Builders' profiles start as pending verification - see our guide on getting verified for what happens next.
